Journey Stone

The Little Museum of Dublin and Journey of the Magdalenes present the Journey Stone exhibition

The Little Museum of Dublin and Journey of the Magdalenes group were pleased to welcome the first public display of ‘Journey Stone’, a public sculpture that acknowledges the passage of those who were incarcerated in Magdalene Laundries, Mother and Baby homes and other such residential institutions that were controlled by the church and Irish state.

The Journey Stone was initiated by a group of mothers, women who spent their lives as young girls locked away in Magdalene Laundries, mother and baby compounds, psychiatric lock up wards and other institutions of confinement throughout Ireland.

The sculpture was unveiled by Journey of the Magdalenes group and Independent Councillor Mannix Flynn on July 29th. On display until September 30th, the sculpture now stands outside the Little Museum of Dublin.
