The Santa Rita Concerts 2017/18
It is with great pleasure that we announce the fourth season of dazzling Santa Rita concerts at the Little Museum of Dublin.
This year’s programme continues the themes of previous seasons, presenting eclectic, absorbing performances in an intimate setting – the lithe songscape of Laura Hyland’s Clang Sayne will open the series. 2017/18 concerts include Canadian electronic music artist Sarah Davachi, West African kora master Seckou Keita, and the hypnotizing music of Estonian violinist-vocalist Maarja Nuut.
Each concert is conceived to provide a unique, deeply immersive audience experience. The evenings begin at 7pm with a Santa Rita wine reception in the museum’s first floor, and a pre-concert interview with the evening’s musician(s). The 8pm performances take place in The Ireland Funds Gallery – two beautifully resonant Georgian drawing rooms, connected by a wide archway. The space is candlelit and the atmosphere highly intimate – a concentrated ritual shared by performer and audience.
